The owner of the Wagner Group, Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, has registered a limited liability company under the name “Concord Management and Consulting” in Belarus, according to information published in the State Register of Legal Persons and Individual Entrepreneurs of the Ministry of Justice of Belarus.

According to the registry, the LLC was registered by the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee on July 19, 2023. The registration address is the village of Tsel in the Osipovichi district, where there is a military camp made available to Wagner Society fighters who settled in Belarus after the abortive mutiny of June 23-24 in Russia.

The main activity declared with respect to Concord Management and Consulting LLC is “property management”.

The declared owner (founder) is the limited liability company “Concord Management and Consulting”, under Russian law, based in St. Petersburg (Russian Federation) since May 27, 1997 and engaged in restaurant and food delivery services activities. The head of the company is Yevgeny Prigozhin.

On 20 July, the Belarusian Ministry of Defence announced that servicemen were taking part in joint training with mercenaries from the Wagner Group at a training ground in the Brest region, just 30 km from the border with Poland.

The BELTA news agency spoke with a Belarusian serviceman on the issue:

“At the Brest training ground, tactical and special training courses are organized with the PMC Wagner. […] In every possible way, we obtain information, analyse the experience and apply it in practice. With the involvement of people recently returned from the war zone, who have rich combat experience and the latest information, we can say that this combat experience is invaluable to us.” (Published on 20/07/2023).

The Belarusian authorities, after the attempted rebellion of Wagner and Yevgeny Prigozhin on June 23 and 24, proposed to the private military company and its leader to come to Belarus and move into a former military camp. Wagner’s fighters reached Belarus under the terms of an agreement with the Kremlin on June 24. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who has known Yevgeny Prigozhin for several years, served as an intermediary in the negotiations.

Minsk organized a press tour for foreign journalists in the camp near the town of Osipovichi. Between 2000 and 3000 Wagner fighters are believed to have arrived in Belarus since June 24.

On 19th July the Belarusian border service cancelled all border control procedures between Belarus and Russia, which had been in force since 5th May. Checkpoints have been removed and vehicles and passengers freely enter the territory of Belarus from Russia.

Wagner’s fighters, serving as trainers of the Belarusian armed forces, are feared by Ukraine and Poland, which fear incursions on their borders.

On July 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared during a meeting of the Security Council of the Russian Federation that “triggering aggression against Belarus will mean aggression against Russia.”

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, is expected to meet Vladimir Putin in Moscow on July 23, reported the Belarusian press agency BELTA.
