Afghanistan: U.S., Central Asian countries meet at C5+1 summit

The United States and Central Asian states have declared the need to prevent the use of Afghanistan as an instrument for the spread of terrorism to other countries, according to a joint statement at the C5+1 session on Afghanistan held in Astana in late July.
