In September, the Swiss Customs Service recorded imports of gold, silver and coins amounting to approximately 257.3 tonnes worth 5.5 billion Swiss francs. The country’s exports, meanwhile, amounted to around 263 tonnes of gold, silver and coins worth 5.7 billion Swiss francs.
The published figures also show that Switzerland’s raw gold imports amounted to 152.2 tonnes, worth 5.4 billion Swiss francs. During this period, Swiss exports of raw gold amounted to 99 tonnes, worth 5.5 billion francs.
In 2022, gold imports to Switzerland were valued at approximately $98.5 billion
