Iran has warned that it intends to attack Israel, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said. The warning from Tehran, he said, was transmitted through Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Tensions in the Middle East reached a peak after the death of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. According to various sources, he died as a result of a direct missile strike or the detonation of an explosive device planted in advance. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that Haniyeh was killed by “a shot of a short-range projectile with a warhead weighing about 7 kg.”
