The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the transfer of reserves to the Kursk region to fight Ukrainian units in the Sudzhansky district of the region.

Since the morning of August 6, clashes have been ongoing between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts. The situation in the region is recognized as an emergency at the federal level.

As part of the columns marching to the areas of tasks, there are BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems, towed artillery pieces, tanks transported on trawls, heavy tracked vehicles, Ural and KamAZ vehicles,” reported the TASS news agency, quoting the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Over the past two days, about 3,000 residents have been evacuated from the Kursk region. In eight districts of the Kursk region, communication and mobile Internet will be provided free of charge until the end of the emergency mode.

According to local authorities, a system of assistance to internally displaced persons has been organized in the Kursk region. The authorities of the Lgov district are taking out citizens at their requests, it is noted that there is no mass call of people.

The Russian National Guard has taken additional measures to ensure safety at the nuclear power plant in the Kursk region against the backdrop of the ongoing attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Also, the National Guard, together with the Ministry of Defense and the Border Service of the FSB, has built up forces to counter Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
