“Information about Iran’s transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia is not true” said the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the material of The Wall Street Journal about the transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia for use in hostilities in Ukraine.
“We saw this message. Not every time this kind of information is true,” Dmitry Peskov said.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stressed the importance of partnership with Iran. The parties are developing trade and economic relations and cooperation in all possible areas, including the most sensitive ones. Russia and Iran intend to continue the dialogue in the interests of the peoples of the countries.
On September 6, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources, that Iran had allegedly recently transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.
Iran’s Permanent Mission to the UN denied to CNN the supply of missiles to Russia. They said that the country’s position on the conflict in Ukraine remains unchanged, Iran refrains from providing military assistance and calls on other countries not to supply weapons to either side.

Previously, the Russian and Iranian authorities have repeatedly rejected such claims. Peskov said that during the special operation, “Russian equipment with Russian names” is used. He called media reports about the supply of Iranian drones to Russia “information stuffing.” The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that the country has never supplied Russia with drones and weapons during the conflict in Ukraine.
This denial comes in the context of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s allegation that Russia has received short-range ballistic missiles from Iran, which are expected to be deployed in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine within weeks. The U.S. and its allies have expressed concerns that these missile supplies represent a significant escalation in military support from Iran to Russia.
Iran has also refuted the claims, with its officials describing the allegations as politically motivated and asserting that Iran does not supply weapons to either side of the conflict in Ukraine.
