Susie Wiles has been appointed as President-elect Donald Trump’s White House Chief of Staff.

She is a seasoned Republican political strategist and the first woman to ever hold this position. Wiles has played a pivotal role in Trump’s political operations for several years, including managing his successful campaigns in Florida during the 2016 and 2020 elections, as well as his 2024 presidential campaign.

Wiles’ political career spans decades, with significant experience in Florida politics. She previously worked on campaigns for figures such as Rick Scott, whom she helped become Governor of Florida in 2010, and briefly managed Jon Huntsman’s 2012 presidential bid. She also played a key role in Ron DeSantis’s 2018 gubernatorial campaign before their relationship soured.

Known for her strategic acumen and ability to maintain discipline within Trump’s team, Wiles has earned a reputation for being “tough, smart, and innovative,” as praised by Trump himself. Her low-profile approach and behind-the-scenes influence have made her a trusted advisor within Trump’s inner circle. 

Susie Wiles made a rare public appearance when Trump called her on stage during his victory speech Wednesday night in Palm Beach. Rather a backstage regular, the main strategist of the campaign had deserved her share of the triumph that evening.

Despite her preference to avoid the spotlight, Wiles is recognized as one of the most effective operators in Trump’s orbit, often managing access to the former president and helping to navigate his impulsive tendencies.
