President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at the Munich Security Conference that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but only after a peace plan is agreed with the American and European authorities. This is how he answered a question about a possible meeting with representatives of Russia, the United States, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia.

“I will not meet with Russia. I don’t know if they like it or not. I am ready to meet with only one Russian – Vladimir Putin, but only after a common plan is developed with Trump and Europe,” Volodymyr Zelensky said at the Munich Security Conference.

On February 13, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that Ukraine, “of course,” would participate in negotiations to resolve the conflict. Vladimir Putin noted that Vladimir Zelensky “due to his illegitimacy” (presidential elections in Ukraine were not held due to martial law) does not have the right to sign a peace treaty, although Russia is ready to negotiate “with anyone.”

On February 12, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump discussed the end of hostilities in Ukraine through negotiations during a phone talk. The Russian president stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of the conflict, and his American counterpart called for an early ceasefire. Then Mr. Trump spoke with Volodymyr Zelensky “about the possibility of achieving peace.”
