Boeing and GE Aerospace have secured a monumental $96 billion deal with Qatar Airways to supply up to 210 aircraft, including Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X models powered by GE engines. This contract, announced by the White House during President Donald Trump’s visit to Qatar, marks Boeing’s largest-ever widebody and 787 order.

Key details of the deal include:

Firm orders for 160 aircraft (130 Boeing 787s and 30 Boeing 777X), with options for an additional 50 aircraft, totaling up to 210 planes.

The aircraft will be powered by GE Aerospace’s GE9X engines for the 777X and GEnx engines for the 787, representing the largest widebody engine order in GE Aerospace’s history, with over 400 engines ordered including spares and options.

The order will support 154,000 U.S. jobs annually, White House says. It will generate more than 1 million total domestic jobs throughout the manufacturing and delivery phases.

The agreement was signed in a ceremony attended by Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer, President Trump, and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

This landmark contract is seen as a significant boost for Boeing, which has faced profitability challenges and production issues in recent years. It also strengthens the partnership between Qatar Airways and GE Aerospace, supporting Qatar’s aviation industry growth and economic ties with the U.S.
