Kering Eyewear, the eyewear division of the French luxury group Kering, has acquired the Italian manufacturer Lenti, a specialist in sunglass lenses and other optical products, reported a press release.

Lenti, based in Bergamo, Italy, has about 100 employees and has been part of the Safilo Group since 1996. The company is known for its expertise in molding and surface treatments for sun lenses, visors, and protective components used in lighting, automotive, and motorcycle industries.

The Italian company is specialized in moulding and surface treatments to safeguard and improve vision in multiple application fields including sun lenses for eyewear, visors, and other protective components for lighting, and the automotive and motorcycle industries.

This acquisition is part of Kering Eyewear’s ongoing industrial development strategy to strengthen its supply chain and establish in-house capabilities for producing high-quality, Made in Italy sun lenses characterized by technical innovation and superior performance. Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Kering Eyewear, highlighted that Lenti brings additional expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and talent to Kering’s platform.

The deal follows recent acquisitions by Kering Eyewear of other Italian eyewear manufacturers, such as Visard and a minority stake in Mistral, reflecting a broader push to control more of its production and enhance its high-end eyewear portfolio.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
