SLB’s OneSubsea joint venture has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract with Equinor for the Fram Sør project in the North Sea, reported a press release. Under this contract, SLB OneSubsea will deliver four subsea templates and 12 all-electric subsea trees.

This marks the first large-scale all-electric subsea production system, eliminating the need for hydraulic fluid supplied by the host platform and minimizing topside modifications.

This approach provides a cost-effective solution while allowing more space on the platform for future expansions.

The contract follows a year-long Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase jointly developed by Equinor and SLB OneSubsea, leading to the project’s final investment decision (FID).
