The Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the results of Putin’s recent talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alaska, as well as other contacts between Russia and the United States. This discussion happened on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Tianjin, China.
“Yes, our president spoke in great detail, of course, with the President of the People’s Republic of China. They sat together and could talk actively, very effectively,” said Yuri Ushakov, the aide of the Russian president, to journalists.
“The European leaders are interfering with the efforts of the U.S. president Donald Trump, to peacefully resolve the conflict in Ukraine”, added the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
The talks between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump took place in the city of Anchorage in Alaska, on August 15. The meeting of the leaders in a narrow format took place in the three-on-three format and lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. Not only the heads of the SCO member states were here, but also the leaders of those countries that will participate in the meeting in the SCO+ format. Putin stood between Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Xi Jinping at the ceremony. To the left of Xi stood his wife and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In addition to the summit, the Russian president will take part in solemn events that are timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and will hold more than ten bilateral meetings with the leaders of other countries.
