The U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea next month, marking their first face-to-face meeting during Trump’s second term. The APEC summit is scheduled for October 31 to November 1, 2025. This meeting follows a “very productive” phone call between the two leaders where they discussed a range of issues including trade, the war in Ukraine, and a deal to approve the sale of TikTok.

Trump also revealed plans to travel to China in early 2026, and Xi Jinping is expected to visit the United States at a suitable time. The summit meeting is seen as significant in efforts to improve U.S.-China relations amid ongoing tensions. Both leaders expressed optimism about their dialogue and look forward to advancing key agreements, especially concerning TikTok and trade issues.
