This agreement marks OpenAI’s first major partnership with AWS, enabling OpenAI to run its advanced artificial intelligence workloads on Amazon’s cloud infrastructure immediately, with full capacity expected by the end of 2026 and plans for further expansion into 2027 and beyond.

Key points of the deal include:

OpenAI will access hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs through AWS, essential for training and operating its AI models.

The partnership represents a strategic shift for OpenAI, which until 2025 had Microsoft as its exclusive cloud provider.
