The heir to the Shah’s dynasty of Iran, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, called on the protesters to seize power in the country by force. He published the appeal on the social network X.

“Our goal is not just to take to the streets, our goal is to prepare to capture and hold city centers,” Prince Reza Pahlavi said in a video message. He also called on workers in the country to go on a general strike especially in key sectors like energy, saying that sustained pressure can “bring the Islamic Republic… to its knees.”

The Prince has urged people to “take control of the streets” and “overwhelm the security forces with sheer numbers,” language focused on mass civil resistance rather than detailing any armed strategy.

Protests in Iran began in late December due to the collapse of the national currency and a sharp rise in prices. Protesters in dozens of cities are advocating a change in the political system and the coming to power of Prince Reza Pahlavi.

217 people were killed in the shooting of protesters in the center of Tehran by securityr services of the Islamic Republic. Time writes about this with reference to a doctor from one of the Iranian clinics.

US President Donald Trump has twice warned the Iranian authorities that he will deal a “very strong blow” to the country if protesters are killed.

Reza Pahlavi is the son of Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was overthrown in 1979 during the Islamic Revolution. At that time, 19-year-old Reza Pahlavi was studying in the United States as a military pilot. He still lives in the United States. After Israel’s strikes on Iran last summer, Reza Pahlavi said that if the Islamic Republic collapsed, he was ready to lead a transitional government. The heir to the Shah’s dynasty noted that his main goal was “to ensure a democratic future for all Iranians.”

Pahlavi presents himself as a unifying opposition figure in exile, saying his role is to bring together democratic forces and support a future system decided by a national vote rather than simply restoring the monarchy.
