Imports of alumina (semi-finished products for aluminum production) from China to Russia in 2025 increased by 25% compared to the previous year to 2 million tons, according to the data of the China’s General Administration of Customs (GTU).
In monetary terms, deliveries increased by 8% to USD 974.8 million, the maximum volume of deliveries last year was recorded in September – 231,452 tons for USD 105.9 million.
Imports of alumina (aluminum oxide) from China to Russia began to grow in 2022 amid difficulties with supplies from a number of other countries after the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. But the volume of supplies fluctuated greatly from month to month. At the end of 2023, supplies increased by 31% compared to the previous year to 1.1 million tons, by the end of 2024 – by 1.5 times to 1.6 million tons.
