Iran has allowed ships from a number of countries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The list of “friendly” states that have been granted such a right includes Russia, India, China, Iraq and Pakistan. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

“We have allowed passage through the Strait of Hormuz to several countries that we consider friendly: for example, Russia, India, Iraq, China and Pakistan,” Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying. Araghchi noted that Iran sees no reason to provide our adversaries with the opportunity to use the strait.

Earlier, Iran established full control over the Strait of Hormuz and actually blocked shipping, as stated by the deputy commander of the IRGC Navy. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s key transport arteries for oil exports. At the same time, experts noted that the complete closure of the strait will not lead to a collapse in the supply of raw materials, since some countries have alternative routes.

More than 1 million Iranian citizens were mobilized in the event of a ground invasion by the United States in the southern region of the country, reported local media sources.
