Trump said the U.S. could be out of the Iran conflict in about two to three weeks, and he framed that as possible even without a formal deal with Tehran. He also said his main goal was stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon and claimed that objective had already been achieved.

According to multiple reports, the U.S. president Trump told reporters the U.S. would be “leaving very soon,” with the exit potentially happening “within two weeks, maybe two, maybe three.” He also said Iran does not have to make a deal for the conflict to end.

This morning oil prices were around the low-to-mid $100s per barrel, with WTI near $103 and Brent near $104 in reported market data.

Nuclear claim

Trump said preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons was the key objective of the operation and that “that goal has been attained.” Other reporting notes that this claim is being questioned, with one report saying there is no public substantiation that Iran’s weapons-grade fuel stockpile was eliminated.

On March 30, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit arrived in the Middle East. Iran said it would destroy U.S. forces if the military launches a ground invasion.

US troops have destroyed over 11 thousand targets in Iran since the beginning of the military operation, the US Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.

Among the targets, more than 150 Iranian warships were destroyed or damaged.

Trump plans to address the nation on the war Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

In the Middle East, Iran continued to fire projectiles at Gulf countries and Israel, while Israel struck regime sites in Tehran. The Houthis in Yemen claimed responsibility for a ballistic-missile attack targeting southern Israel.
