The nationalist National Rally party, chaired by Jordan Bardella since 2022 and sponsored by Marine Le Pen, would win the most deputies per constituency, with 34% of the votes on June 30, the day of the first round of early legislative elections, according to the estimates made on data collected by the Ministry of the Interior at 8 p.m.
The RN confirms with its allies its victory on June 9 in the European elections, as the leading political party in France.
More than 300 constituencies out of the 577 existing ones will be subject to triangular elections during the second round on July 7.
This first round of legislative elections confirms the political defeat of the Renaissance party, support for the parliamentary majority of President Emmanuel Macron. Gabriel Attal’s government will not survive this first round of elections.
The challenge of this first round is to know whether the favorite party will have an absolute majority in the National Assembly, in order to govern without a coalition.
It was in Garches, in Hauts-de-Seine, that Jordan Bardella, the leading figure of the National Rally during the legislative election campaign, went this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. to vote. The president of the nationalist party RN, candidate for the post of Prime Minister, is expected in the evening near the Pavillon Wagram, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, where he will make a speech following the results of the first round.
The record number of deputies from the National Rally before these early legislative elections was 89, in June 2022.
