Clash during the meeting : The meeting became contentious when Trump and Vice President JD Vance criticized Zelenskyy for being “disrespectful” after his tough words against Trump. Zelensky was then interrupted by Trump.

“What we saw from the White House today is serious and disheartening. Ukraine still needs the U.S.’s support, and Ukraine’s security and future are also important to the U.S. and to Europe,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said in a statement to TV2. Norway is a strong ally of Ukraine.

Aftermath

The abrupt end to the meeting and the cancellation of the press conference reflect the strained relationship between Trump and Zelensky.
