Cancellation of Events: Following the heated exchange, Trump cut short the talks and canceled a planned joint press conference with Zelensky. The minerals agreement also remained unsigned.
Political Fallout: The confrontation highlighted deep divisions in U.S. policy towards Ukraine, with some lawmakers criticizing Trump’s approach as minoring Ukraine’s interests. European leaders disagree with the position of Trump.
“What we saw from the White House today is serious and disheartening. Ukraine still needs the U.S.’s support, and Ukraine’s security and future are also important to the U.S. and to Europe,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said in a statement to TV2. Norway is a strong ally of Ukraine.

The situation underscores the challenges in finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, that has been going for three years now.
