Apple has unveiled its iPhone 17 lineup at its September 2025 event, introducing the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and for the first time, the iPhone Air which replaces the previous mid-tier Plus model.

The iPhone Air is Apple’s slimmest phone ever, just 5.6 mm thick, with a titanium chassis and Ceramic Shield, featuring a 6.5-inch display with ProMotion technology and always-on display.

The iPhone 17 offers a bigger and brighter 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display and an advanced camera system including a 48MP Fusion Main camera, a 12MP macro lens, and a new Center Stage front camera. The Pro models boast a new design with an aluminum unibody and vapor chamber cooling for improved thermal performance, featuring the powerful A19 Pro chip, triple 48MP Fusion cameras with an 8x telephoto zoom, and enhanced battery life.

Prices start at $799 for the iPhone 17, $999 for the iPhone Air, $1099 for the iPhone 17 Pro, and $1199 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Pre-orders start on September 12, with availability on September 19.

What about AI?

The iPhones Apple rolled out last year were the first the company designed with a wide range of new AI features. The iPhone 17 lineup announced Tuesday doesn’t make as many leaps as its predecessor — but each phone will come with Apple’s latest operating system, iOS 26, which will feature incremental AI advances.
