Ukrainian servicemen are firing a M-777 howitzer, a towed 155 mm artillery piece in the howitzer class, made by the British BAE Systems.

In the Kherson oblast, the Ukrainian armed forces managed to break through the front in several areas on August 29. Kiyv claims that its battalions are actively developing an offensive against Russian troops.

Oleksiy Arestovich, the Adviser to the Office of the Ukrainian President stated today that :

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine have moved into a small offensive, at least this is how it looks now. They broke through the front line in several areas, developing an offensive deeper.”

At the same time, Oleksiy Arestovich noted that the Ukrainian military interrupted or almost interrupted deliveries through the bridges and destroyed ferry crossings.

An hour ago, the ferry crossing along with the equipment burst very brightly. That is, we suppress the Russian attempts to support their groups on the right bank (of the Dnieper). Combat work is underway“, added the official.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses, having made an unsuccessful attempt to attack in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions in three directions.

During the fighting, 26 Ukrainian tanks, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, nine other armored fighting vehicles were destroyed, two Su-25 attack aircraft were shot down. […] The enemy’s losses in manpower amounted to more than 560 servicemen“, reported the Russian Ministry.

In the evening, the head of the Russian administration of the Kakhovka district of the Kherson region, Vladimir Leontiev, reported that Ukrainian troops inflicted a missile strike on Nova Kakhovka and hydroelectric power plants. The infrastructure is damaged and a fire began.
