Wall Street’s major market averages traded mixed on Wednesday, as investors geared up to assess earnings reports from major technology companies.
The blue-chip Dow (DJI) was +0.3%, the benchmark S&P 500 (SP500) was +0.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) was flat.
Oil prices and bond yields are climbing today, with the Middle East and Ukraine wars squeezing markets on multiple fronts.
Brent crude, the international benchmark, is trading more than $20 above its early-July lows as tensions continue to escalate between the U.S. and Iran. Oil’s quick return to near-$100-a-barrel levels has already pushed average gas prices at the pump above $4 a gallon and is stoking inflation concerns.

Over in the bond market, the 10-year Treasury yield (US10Y) rose 3 basis points to 4.66%, while the 2-year Treasury yield (US2Y) was 3 basis points higher at 4.31%.

Gold futures were at $4,140.70, up $64.30 (+1.58%) on the day, and silver futures were last at $60.20, up $1.10 (+1.86%).
