The MS-21-310 passenger aircraft, built using serial technologies, made a non-stop flight from Irkutsk to the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield near Moscow, covering more than 4 thousand kilometers, Rostec said.
The flight went normally, all systems worked as expected. At the airfield near Moscow, specialists from the United Aircraft Corporation will check all the systems of the liner after a long flight and prepare it for painting in the customer’s livery.
“The long flight of the MS-21 serial aircraft once again demonstrated the reliability of the inherent design solutions and domestic units and systems used in the machine. Certification flights are now actively underway, and this aircraft may also join them in the future. In parallel, a wide cooperation of the corporation’s enterprises built production chains to establish serial production of airliners. The Irkutsk aircraft plant is ready to start fulfilling new orders for the MS-21,” Rostec notes.
The MC-21-310 medium-haul passenger aircraft is equipped with Russian units and systems – from controls and wing mechanization to avionics and power plants. The liner is equipped with PD-14 engines manufactured by the United Engine Corporation.
The first serial fully Russian made passenger aircraft MS-21-310 took to the skies for the first time from the airfield of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant on August 3 under the control of test pilots. The flight lasted one hour 23 minutes at altitudes up to 6 thousand m and instrument speeds up to 600 km / h, then the stability and controllability of the aircraft in different configurations and the operation of the aircraft systems were checked.
As previously stated by the head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, the completion of certification flights and the start of serial production of the MS-21-310 are scheduled for 2027.
